George Hansen Recognized for Outstanding Achievements
April, 2015

South Jordan, UT - George Hansen received the Engineer of the Year for 2015 from the Utah Section of
the American Society of Civil Engineers for his lifelong achievements in the field of Structural Engineering.
George has more than 41 years experience designing innovative structures for complex bridges and
buildings, including design analysis and review of more than 300 structures to satisfy snow and wind
loads for the 2002 Winter Olympics. Other notable projects include The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints Bountiful Utah Temple and Energy Solutions Arena.

“This is the pinnacle of a successful career for George,” said Michael King, Senior Vice President. “He has
made family, friends, and colleagues proud of the lifetime of engineering service and achievements
he has provided for the state of Utah. As an integral part of our organization, he has brought increased
exposure and name recognition to Wilson & Company, as well as opened us up to new and exciting clients
and opportunities.”

As the 2015 award recipient, George qualified as ASCE Utah’s nominee for the Utah Engineers
Council’s (UEC) Engineer of the Year award, which recognizes accomplishments of engineers among
various branches of engineering and science. The winner of this award was announced on February 28
at the annual Engineers Week Awards Banquet. Although the award went to a doctor of research and
development, we are extremely proud of George’s outstanding achievements and his service to our
community.

In addition to being recognized at the annual award banquet, George will be featured in the UEC Journal
published in April.
